When protestors forced their way into the Capitol, they violated the "holy of holies". Think I'm exaggerating? While the "Qanon Shaman" was at the head of the chamber, this officer said, "this is, like, the sacredest place". Rep. Hakeem Jeffries said, "This was an attack on our democracy. An attack on our way of life. An attack on the Congress, which is a cathedral of the democratic republic that we hold dear in the United States of America". There is undoubtedly a religious devotion to our sacred democracy by the ruling elite.
Those calling this an "insurrection" have completely lost their minds. This was a bunch of angry people who felt the election was rigged against them getting out of hand. Violence is always wrong. But, I gotta say, I don't shed a tear when Capitol gets infiltrated. Or, at a minimum, I have a different reaction when I see private businesses get burned to the ground. At least this protest focused outrage towards those they see being responsible.
AOC said she thought she was going to die and that many people could have been a assassinated. Give me a break. Nobody was barging into there with guns. Apparently, they had zip-ties. Wow, the horror!
Anyways, when I think of the "most sacred place", the Capitol would be the last place that would come to mind. To put this in perspective, off the top of my head here's a list of locations more sacred than the Capitol:
- My local church
- My recliner
- My bed
- My refrigerator
- My toilet
CNN had their highest ratings day EVER during the Capitol attack. So, what does that tell you? You'll never hear the end of it. They have every financial incentive to continue to discuss this for months to come and they'll turn this into another "9/11". Oh wait, that already happened.
This explains the completely ridiculous, over the top and unnecessary security for the upcoming inauguration. The media has been pumping out stories like this to get everyone scared. Will there be a couple of knuckleheads out there? Sure...maybe. But to think there will be a coordinated coup is completely baseless.
Here's a few other things I want to briefly vent about:
- The Atilis gym in NJ had it's funds of $173K seized while appealing a court decision. How can the government just seize your cash sitting in a bank? Does this not scream for a decentralized currency? No wonder Bitcoin's price has been shooting up. That action is terrifying.
- Censorship is getting ridiculous. There are mini authoritarians calling to ban podcasts! FROM A "JOURNALIST"! Sitting down with a microphone and having a conversation is too much for these people. Once Big Tech banned a sitting President, the floodgates were opened for this crackdown on dissent. And there is no end in site. Tom Woods is spot on with his tagline about the "3x5 index card of allowable opinion". Anything outside of the approved consensus will be banned.
This will be the fatal blow for these large media companies. The market is screaming for decentralized platforms. It'll take some time, but it's coming. Journalist Ben Swann (who has routinely been censored) has been working on ise.media. It's not much yet, but has potential. MeWe is a decent Facebook alternative. Minds is another option. There are numerous YouTube alternatives, but I haven't checked them out yet so I won't link to them.
One final (random) thing I found interesting: here's a map of policy makers breaking their own rules. They don't even believe their own guidance and it tells you everything you need to know about the lockdowns. Feel free to reference this when discussing the topic.
That's all for now. Thanks & take care!
