Don't Be So Negative

Writer: SteveSteve

Nobody wants to hang out with people who do nothing but complain all the time. As a result, I'm trying to not get so outraged by the "news of the day", in the hopes it won't bring me down. But, I gotta say, this is very tough to do these days.

We have politicians ruining people's lives and businesses. (all while ignoring their own advice) We have airlines kicking families off a plane because their 2 year old refuses to wear a mask. And we have corrupt media and social networking companies who censored a story from the public before an election by claiming it was "Russian disinformation" despite no evidence. You get the idea.

But, I want to be positive.

Well, hopefully not that type of positive!

So, what are some positive stories?

- How about this gym owner refusing to close? Taking a stand against these mini dictators is so great to see.

- Restaurant owners are rebelling against these lockdowns. People are realizing that government does not care about you.

- A Texas GOP Chairman is floating the idea of secession. (for those who freak out about this: there's no reason this needs to result in violence)

- A Florida business owner paid off past due electric bills for over 100 residents.

- The Supreme Court ruled against restrictions on church services. (Of course, I think churches should ignore these government decrees regardless)

- And the Supreme Court denied the Texas lawsuit regarding the election.

Yes, I think this is positive because I'm DONE hearing about election/voter fraud. I find it tiring and unconvincing. If this election were to be "decided" via the courts, half of this country would go absolutely bonkers. I don't want to see what that will look like. On the other hand, we will have the other half of the country who thinks the process is rigged and illegitimate. (and maybe rightly so) They'll be sick of politics and possibly rebel against a GOP, many of whom never really supported Trump from the beginning. This is also the half of the country who is more willing to embrace libertarianism. (Or at least listen to an alternative view point)

A true liberty/freedom movement is possible. They'll unite against a Biden/Harris administration that is openly hostile to individual rights. (gun ownership, for example) We just need honest, brave and well-spoken candidates who will speak out against these lockdowns and uphold individual rights. The Mises Caucus seems like they'll play a hand in facilitating this, if it were to happen. I'll be keeping an eye on what they have planned.

Or you can ignore politics altogether. To be honest, I go back and forth on how I feel about all of this. I hate the state, and (as a result) don't want anything to do with it. On the other hand, a movement like this has potential to change a lot of people's minds about how they view the state.

So, I'm going to choose to remain positive. Even though many Americans have swallowed every bit of propaganda they've been fed, there is another chunk of Americans who know that something isn't right. I'm going to hope they're receptive to the message of freedom and individual liberty. And it's our job to spread that message.
