Treating each other fairly and justly is at the heart of the Christian faith. Jesus teaches about how to live is based on two main principles: Love and appreciation for God; and love and appreciation for one another. Social justice may be conceived by many people as a complex system of rights, privileges and obligations; but in fact social justice is simply about love, peace, and respect. It’s something easy, simple, and perfectly natural when you understand the truth about life. It’s not a puzzle to figure out, or an impossible lifestyle to pursue, but never attain. A child can understand—don’t be bad.
Proponents of the State often believe that human beings are incapable of social justice, and that social justice must be imposed through legislation—we need the fear of retribution to keep us in line. They cite human corruption as the reason for a State, but they fail to realize that the State is run by corrupt humans. So what’s the point? In fact, all they are accomplishing here is the creation of a false sense of security. These are the watchmen (Ezekiel 33), who see the danger but don’t blow the trumpet. Ezekiel 13:10 talks about this phenomenon: “Evil prophets deceive my people by saying, ‘All is peaceful’ when there is no peace at all! It’s as if the people have built a flimsy wall, and these prophets are trying to reinforce it by covering it with whitewash!”
The problem of social justice is about men’s hearts, which have turned to evil, causing them to hurt each other. Men use the power of their arms and minds to do injury. Reshuffling the deck isn’t going to help—simply changing the power structure by implementing a system of elections. I honestly hate to burst your bubble people, but these are the facts. The State is simply whitewash. Let the people organize themselves freely, without confusing the matter with the whole idea of a State—that is much better for everyone.
Social justice is not about creating our own system, but about respecting the system that God has already created. First off, start by speaking the truth; creating a false construct to confuse people only takes away from our ability to organize and defend ourselves.
