The problem is the way that political leaders think. They tend to have a mindset, which is perfectly natural for human beings, categorized by "whoever is not with us is against us". So if you want to speak up against what they're doing, you have to be careful. For a preacher, who holds significant sway over a large group of people, it is easy to make statements that those in power will find threatening. It's a natural reaction, that if you go on the pulpit and dissent against what the leaders are doing, the leaders will feel that you're inciting the congregation to "do something about it". They tend to be paranoid that way, understandably.

So we can't be upset with church leaders for their refusal to make a more decisive stand. It's only human to be afraid of someone who's bigger than you, and mean, with a chip on their shoulder, and a history of irrational violence. We can't criticize the church leaders for protecting themselves, but we need to explain to them that they have lost touch with the powerful reality of the Faith. The world leaders are in fact NOT bigger than you, and you do NOT need to be afraid of them, unless of course you're not talking in the power of Christ, in which case, I take back what I said... you should indeed run, and cower in fear. But for the preachers who actually are coming from a place of authority, you need to get over that initial panic, and understand this--that you are responsible for a strong, uncompromising delivery of God's Word. Christian history has always been about making that stand, and in fact the whole point of Jesus' ministry was to make that stand on behalf of the team, which none of us, without his assistance, would have been able to make on our own. The Christian tradition is all about that power.

It's hard to make that stand because we don't want to go overboard. We don't want to react emotionally and then go too far. But you guys are thinking too much on this. Remember what Jesus said? Don't think about what you're going to say; just say it. Don't study too hard about saying it in just the right way without going over the limit that some paranoid person in government will get upset about. Just speak up naturally in God's Word and Spirit, and all the angles will work themselves out--you won't be going over the line, and you won't be chickening out like so many have been doing for so long.

The bottom line here is that we need to understand that the State (or whatever) does not define morality. God does. So let's not put the cart before the horse. Let God's Words be heard, and let those who want to promote some concept of "State" figure out what they're going to call things. Remember, that's how it always has been. All the people in State want is power. So when the Christians had no power, they fought us; when we got too powerful, they tried to assimilate us. Now with the promotion of Christian Anarchist teaching we're reaching a new stage, and they will have to run to keep up with us to maintain that assimilation. So speak up freely my friends.
